4 Fun Events to Wrap Up Summer

Whether you’re building epic Lego worlds, battling monsters in a D&D campaign, or catching a movie under the stars, this week’s lineup has something for everyone. Here’s what’s happening around town:

All Ages Lego Lab

Where: Cedar Park Public Library
When: July 30th, 3:00PM–5:00PM
Why You’ll Love It: Get ready to build, create, and imagine at this hands-on Lego Lab! Kiddos can let their stories come to life, brick by colorful brick, using Legos provided by the library. Whether they’re into towers, towns, or totally wild contraptions, this is a great way to mix playtime with storytelling.
Good to Know: All materials are provided. Just bring your imagination—and maybe a camera to capture their creation before it topples.

Moonlight Movie Night: National Treasure

Where: Yonders Point at Old Settlers Park, Round Rock
When: August 1st, 7:30PM–10:00PM
Why You’ll Love It: Watch the adventure unfold under the stars with a family favorite on the big screen. National Treasure is the perfect pick for parents and kids who love action, puzzles, and Nicolas Cage doing dramatic history things. It’s a chill way to enjoy a Texas summer night.
Good to Know: Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and bug spray!

Paint the Reel

Where: Austin Public Library – Windsor Park Branch
When: August 2nd, 1:00PM–4:00PM
Why You’ll Love It: This drop-in workshop is all about analog film, creative play, and celebrating family joy. Kids and caregivers can get hands-on with 16mm film reels, learn to paint and draw directly onto them, and see their work projected in real time. It’s part art, part science, and fully fun.
Good to Know: Free and open to all ages. Come and go as you please, no registration required.

After-School D&D Club

Where: Round Rock Public Library
When: August 5th, 4:30PM–7:00PM
Why You’ll Love It: Perfect for aspiring adventurers, this after-school Dungeons & Dragons club invites kids to dive into storytelling, teamwork, and imagination. Whether they’re seasoned players or curious beginners, it’s a great way to build confidence while slaying (imaginary) dragons.
Good to Know: All supplies and guidance are provided. No prior D&D experience necessary, just a love for creativity and a little courage.
