Our Story
As busy parents, we know the struggle: endless searches for camps and after-school programs, only to end up overwhelmed by forms and logistics. We built Recess for parents like us – to take the stress out of planning and make it easy to discover, book, and organize amazing activities, all in one place. And while parents get a seamless experience, Recess also helps activity providers connect with more families to grow their businesses.

mom to 3-year-old Isla and wife to Sean, my partner of 10 years. We love exploring Austin’s family-friendly spots, from breweries with playgrounds (Meanwhile is my favorite!) to fun events like HONK! TX, Isla’s top pick. With a decade of experience in startup operations, I’m passionate about building solutions to make life easier for busy parents like me.
Hi! I’m Amy,
mom to baby Maya and wife to Eric. Fun fact: we built Recess during my third trimester! Originally from Detroit, I’ve lived in NYC and Paris, and now I love exploring the Carolinas with my family. A traveler at heart, I’ve visited over 50 countries, but these days I’m focused on bringing Recess to families everywhere.

At Recess, our mission is simple: to connect families with the best after-school programs, fostering opportunities for kids to learn, grow, and have fun beyond the classroom. We believe every child deserves access to enriching activities, and every parent deserves a hassle-free way to find them.
